Cent°t: Minutes of the Council Meeting: of July 21, 1970 for L E Vil. <br />A letter was received from Ed Whitman, President, Valley Watershed <br />District. Mr. Whitman suggested a meeting: between the Village, Femtom, <br />r 'Washington county Officials, The Watershed District and anyone else that <br />` may have an interest in common problems. The Council advised the clerk <br />-to inform Mr'. Whitman that they could be available at his convaenience <br />and if he wanted to set -up the meeting it could be anytime just so it <br />did not fall an regular meeting nights which are the let & 3rd Tues,. <br />The Lake Blue Lions have donated the new radio equipment to be used an <br />the fire engines. Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilman <br />Abercrombie that we officially aecep,t the generous gift in behalf" of <br />the Fire Department:, Carried 5--0. <br />Fire Chief Ijorkman advised that he had three new application for the <br />lake Elmo Volunteer Fire Department. Names are Wayne lyn Yereson, James <br />Earl Eder and Wm George Sartholmy. Motion by Councilman Watson 2nd by <br />Councilman. Abercrombie that the new member candidates be accepted. On <br />a vote of the Council it carried 5-0. <br />Motion by Councilman Watson 2nd by Councilman Abercrombie that the <br />village purchawe tape recorders:, microphones and anther such equipment <br />to. update our method of. reporting minutes etc. Mayor Brookman appointed <br />Mr. Watson to investigate the Oakdale setup,, and report back at the <br />August 4, 1970 meeting what: is involved. <br />Motion.by Councilman Watson 2nd by Councilman Shervheim that the Vil-. <br />lage election be set up to concur with the State and National election <br />this year and to adept the first. Tuesday after the first Monday in <br />November as the official election date in the future. Carried 5-0, <br />Motion by Councilman Watson 2nd by Councilman Shervheim that the Plan- <br />ning Commission be advised to set up the necessary hearings for rezoning. <br />of the property of Mr. & Mrs Donald Anderson referred to in the: July <br />14, 1970 minutes of the Planning Commission. Carried 5-0. <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilmalr.a�RR we purchase a <br />225amp welder, a bench grinder and a chain hoist.
