R-71-23 <br />RESOLUTION <br />VILLAGE OF LAKE ELMO <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING APPROVAL OF COMPREHENSIVE <br />SEWER PLAN AND AUTHORIZING INSTALLATION OF TEMPORARY <br />SERVICE <br />WHEREAS, the. Village of Lake Elmo has heretofore sub- <br />mitted its Comprehensive Sewer Plan to the Metropolitan Sewer <br />Board, as required by law, and requested approval thereof by said <br />Board; and <br />WHEREAS, said Comprehensive Sewer Plan included an <br />alternate plan for temporary sewer service to certain western <br />portions of the Village of Lake Elmo, including the so-called <br />"Tri-Lakes Area" by means of a temporary connection to the <br />interceptor sewer of the former W.O.N.E. Sewer District; and <br />WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Lake <br />Elmo has determined that the recreational and residential <br />qualities of said "Tri-Lakes Area" are endangered by the present <br />discharge and seepage of organic wastes into lakes Olson, DeMontre- <br />ville and Jane; and <br />WHEREAS, the Village Council has further determined <br />that only the prompt installation of sanitary sewer can prevent <br />serious damage to the recreational and residential qualities of <br />said area, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that said Village <br />Council hereby requests that the Metropolitan Sewer Board approve <br />the Comprehensive Sewer Plan of the Village of Lake Elmo and <br />authorize said Village to proceed with the installation of a temporary <br />connection to the interceptor sewer of the former W.O.N.E.
