Friedrich. <br />isent: Friedrich & h1atson. <br />Motion by C. Shervheim 2nd by C.Abercrombie that the minutes of the August 1, 3972 meeting <br />approved as submitted. Carried 3-0. <br />Letter from the State of Minnesota Highway Department regarding, speed zones was discussed. <br />Motion by C. Abercrombie 2nd by C. Shervheim that council approve the letter and order the <br />installation of the required speed signs. Motion carried 3-0. <br />Cyril Schoener-Sewer assessment 1968 questioned if he should have to pay the full assessment <br />with Highway Department now taking the land. Advised to work out with the liuhway Dept. <br />Assessment stands. <br />C. Shervheim presented Resolution R 72-16 Regarding Coppersmith -Lead Inc, agreement and <br />asked for council approval. 2nd by C. Brockman. Ca.rri.ed 3-0. C. Friedrich and 0. Matson <br />were absent. <br />Motion by C. Shervheim 2nd by C.Abcrcrombi-e that approval be given on the commercial. <br />building plan presented by Robert Hoffman subject to approval of Village Engineer. <br />Carried 3-0. Site is at 9220 Hudson Blvd. <br />Uniform building code discussed. Question raised as to definition of minimum house size <br />(reads 300 sq.ft.'per occupant). Delay decision with counsel to clarify this point. <br />Councilman Abercrombie asked for time to consult with building, gas &. plumbing inspectors <br />to come up with a recommendation for fees for the various inspections. Report to be ready <br />by Sept. 5 mtg. <br />Residents of Legion Ave. No. asked that something be done about the weeds and the washouts <br />n the easement .for a cross street. Clerk instructed to have maintenance dept. cut the <br />greeds and have the engineer survey the situation and report to the council at the n-xt meeting. <br />Znginser advised that the bids for seal coating the streets had been reviewed and that <br />Allied was the low reliable bidder and recommended that they be awarded the contract. <br />Motion by C. Shervheim 2nd by C. Abercrombie that award be given to Allied Blacktop Co. <br />Carried 3•-0. <br />Request for a deputy registrar of registrations for election w ere discussed, Motion by <br />C. Abercrombie 2nd by C. Shervheim authorizing clerk to set up appropriate registration nor <br />the general election. Carried 3-0. <br />Motion by C. Abercrombie 2nd by C. Shervheim to reimburse Assessor Wm. Park up to 1250,00 <br />:for attending assessor school. Carried 3-0. <br />Motion by C. Shervhoim 2nd by C. Abercrombie to approve payment of bills, carried 3-0. <br />Clerk advised that letter had been received from the Dept, of Housing and Urban Development <br />approving residents of Lake Elmo to purchase flood insurance at reduce govt. subsidized rates. <br />Complete letter on file in office.
