Lake Elmo <br />Agenda Section: Planning, Land Use and Zoning <br />No. 9C <br />City Council <br />April 18, 2006 <br />Agenda Item: Zoning Ordinance Text Amendment — Outdoor Social Events <br />Background Information for April 18, 2006: <br />At the Council Workshop April 11 it was decided to place this proposal back on the April 18 City Council <br />Agenda for referral back to the Planning Commission for additional work. The Council Members asked the <br />Commission to consider adding additional required CUP conditions to the ordinance, including: <br />• Outdoor lighting controls <br />• Site e\security during events <br />• Better definition of screening and parking requirements <br />• Noise control <br />• Issues of sale/consumption of liquor <br />The Workshop also questioned the maximum allowable event scale (measured in attendees and staff) in the <br />present ordinance. While 20 persons per site acre was not necessarily found to be excessive, the 500 person <br />maximum appeared to be. <br />Action items: <br />Person r onsible: <br />Motion to refer the draft Outdoor Social Events in the AG District <br />ity er <br />back to the Planning Commission with direction to consider and <br />make recommendations regarding the issues raised at the April 11 <br />Council Workshop. <br />Attachments: <br />Time Allocated: <br />
