To: Lake Elmo City Council <br />From: Bruce and Stephanie Landsem <br />5487 Jamaca Ave. North <br />Re: Proposed Resolution on Building Permit Application <br />Thank you for considering our proposal for a resolution concerning <br />our remodel plans. <br />We have lived in Lake Elmo since 1992. During that time we have <br />made many improvements to our home and property. <br />As the attached documentation shows, we are hoping to build a <br />detached, 3-car garage facing south and convert our existing <br />garage to living space. Since the garage will be detached we are <br />seeking a resolution on our permit to proceed with construction. <br />The reason for planning the garage this way is: <br />The topography of our lot makes it most feasible to position the <br />garage to the west/north of the house and closer to the road. <br />The slope on the northern side of our house will cause drainage <br />issues if the garage is moved east from its proposed position. <br />The current two car garage will be converted to a living room with <br />seating area, fireplace, and space for a piano.
