Lake Elmo <br />Agenda Section: CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT <br />No. 111). <br />City Council <br />January 17, <br />2006 <br />Agenda Item: Fire Department Operational Police Manual <br />Background Information: <br />On September 24th of 2004 the City Council adopted Ord. 97-141 relating to the organization and operation <br />of the Fire Department. This occurred after deficiencies in the City Code were identified relating to <br />operational authority. <br />Part of that Ord. gives authority to the Administrator to work with the Fire Chief and his team to construct <br />operational policy and guidelines in a manual format for clarity of operation. In an effort to make certain <br />the City Council stays in the loop of that practice and LEFD Operations, I am recommending that a member <br />of Council be appointed annually to be part of the concurrence process related to policy and guideline <br />development. <br />Person responsible: <br />Action Items: Motion to appoint one member of Council to work <br />with the Administrator and the Fire Chief in the on -going <br />Martin Rafferty, City Administrator <br />development and modification of the LEFD Manual. <br />Attachments: <br />
