CITY OF LAKE ELMO <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />ORDINANCE NO. 97-171 <br />AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE ADOPTION OF THE MINNESOTA STATE BUILDING <br />CODE <br />The Lake Elmo City Council hereby ordains that Section 500.01 and its <br />subdivisions are amended to read as follows: <br />500.01 State Building Code <br />A. Adoption. The Minnesota State Building Code, as adopted by the <br />Minnesota Commissioner of Administration, pursuant to Minn. <br />Stat. Chapter 168.59 to 16B.75, including all optional chapter(s) <br />hereinafter specifically adopted; and including all amendments, <br />rules and regulations established, adopted and published from <br />time to time by the Minnesota Commissioner of Administration <br />through its Building Codes and Standards Division is hereby <br />adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth <br />herein, and shall be known as the "Lake Elmo Building Code". <br />Optional Chapter. The following optional provisions, as identified <br />in the most current addition of the Minnesota State Building <br />Code, are hereby adopted and incorporated as part of the Lake <br />Elmo Building Code: <br />1306,0020 Subpart 2 - Existing and New Buildings. Automatic <br />sprinklers for new buildings, buildings increased in total floor <br />area (including the existing building), or buildings in which the <br />occupancy classification has changed, must be installed and <br />maintained in operational condition within the structure. The <br />requirements of this subpart apply to structures that fall within <br />the occupancy classifications established in Part 1306.0030, items <br />(A) through (E) <br />
