Lake Elmo
Agenda Section: FIRE DEPARTMENT
No. 7B 3
City Council
September 5,
2006
Agenda Item: Fire Station No. 2 Upgrades
The following bids are for upgrades to Station #2. We have approached this as a two part project. The first being, degreasing and
painting the walls in the area that had been occupied by Public Works. We will be painting to match existing. Along with this we
will have the floors cleaned, striped and sealed.
The second portion of this is to construct a "day room" for the staff in the center stall, improve the storage space above and
upgrade the existing office space. The bids we received were over $33,000.00 for this. The Firefighters have agreed to provide the
labor for this project to minimize the costs. There will be expenses for materials, HVAC and some electrical work.
We are recommending that you approve the bid from Volk Contracting in the amount of $8250.00 for the painting and floor
portion of the project.
Person responsible:
Action items
Chief Malmquist
Motion Second to award the bid from
Volk Contracting in the amount of $8,250.00 for the painting and
floor upgrade at Fire Station No. 2
Attachments:
Time Allocated:
Bids
