City of Lake Elmo <br />City Council Workshop <br />May 9, 2007 <br />Workshop Notes <br />Mayor Johnston called the meeting to order. <br />Present: Mayor Johnston, Councilmembers Delapp, Johnson, Park and Smith <br />Administrator Hoyt reviewed the next steps in the city council's work on the Village plan. <br />These included: <br />Financial planning <br />Environmental planning -the Alternative Urban Areawide Review (AUAR) <br />Engineering <br />Jack Griffin, city engineer, gave a presentation of the proposed I - 95 to 30rh Street trunk sewer and <br />related water main, stormsewer, road and trail improvements along Lake Elmo Avenue. Fie described <br />a process with outreach to property owners/residents about the project that would begin as soon as <br />the engineer was authorized to proceed with the design and specifications. <br />The city council asked questions and provided input on the proposed trail design. <br />The city council said that a trail along the lake would be nice if it could be done within the current <br />width of the road bed and with parking maintained on the east side of the road. <br />Jack Griffin said this would be presented at the resident/property owner information meeting . <br />The city council discussed proceeding with the design. of the project with the understanding that no <br />decisions would need to be made on proceeding with the construction of the project until May, 2008. <br />The city council scheduled the item for the May 15, 2007 city council agenda <br />Workshop notes by Susan Hoyt. <br />
