C. Old Village Area Property Owner's Workshop
Planner Dillerud reported that on April 3, 2001, the Council considered the
Old Village Design Guidelines. No action was taken by the Council to
adopt an ordinance that would make any part of those guidelines mandatory.
The Council directed a workshop be conducted to which all Old Village
Area property owners would be invited to discuss recommendations for
guidelines as seen in the draft ordinance.
There was testimony at the public hearing on the Old Village Architectural
Standards in January 2001 opposing any types of mandatory standards.
Council did not anticipate changing the guidelines.
The Council asked that a date be set for a workshop, date depending on
when the meeting could be cabled from the Council chambers. The meeting
notice should be sent to the entire 300 propertyowners and should also
reference the RFP for the Old Village Neighborhood. The notice of the
meeting will be in the City newsletter, website and on cable. Mayor Hunt
suggested the Planner might want to contact the business owners before the
meeting.
D.
