Mayor Hunt called the Council meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Council chambers. <br />PRESENT: Council members: Armstrong, DeLapp, Dunn and Siedow, City Attorney, <br />Jerry Filla, City Engineer, Tom Prew, City Planner, Chuck Dillerud, Fire Chief, Greg <br />Malmquist and Administrator, Mary Kueffner. <br />L AGENDA <br />M/S/P Dunn/DeLapp — to approve the May 7, 2002 City Council agenda, as amended. <br />(Motion passed 5-0). <br />2. MINUTES: April 16, 2002 <br />M/S/P DeLapp/Dunn — to postpone the April 16, 2002 City Council minutes until May <br />21, 2002 Council meeting. (Motion passed 5-0.) <br />3. PUBLIC INOUIRIES/INFORMATIONAL: <br />A. Public Inquiries (None) <br />B. Request from Lake Elmo Jaycees <br />The Lake Elmo Jaycees intend to pay for new bleachers for Lions Park (between <br />$10,000 and $15,000), but want to have them before Huff Puff Days, August 8- <br />11. These bleachers must be replaced or cut down so they don't exceed 3 tiers no <br />later than January 1, 2003. On behalf of the Lake Elmo Jaycees, Linda Wagner <br />asked that this expenditure be credited toward the ten percent they are required by <br />ordinance to donate to the City for 2002. <br />M/S/P DeLapp/Dunn - to accept the donation of $10,000 to $15,000 from the <br />Lake Elmo Jaycees for the purchase of new bleachers for Lions Park, and allow <br />the final dollar amount to be credited to the Jaycees required ten -percent <br />contribution to the City for 2002. (Motion passed 5-0). <br />C. Recommendation from Environmental Commission for City participation in <br />the Shoreland Stabilization Project at the DNR public access on Lake <br />DeMontreville <br />Dean Johnston, Chairman of the Environmental Commission, reported that Jeff <br />Berg, Washington County Water and Soil Conservation, gave a presentation on <br />"Best Management Practices" for protecting our natural resources. During this <br />presentation, Jeff Berg told the Commission about an upcoming Shoreland <br />Stabilization Project proposed for the DNR access on Lake DeMontreville. <br />Assisting in this project will be the DNR (labor and supervision, plant material, <br />signage), the VBWD (Project review, supervision, plant materials, signage), the <br />SWCD (project design, coordination, supervision), and the Tri-Lakes Association <br />(labor). Jeff asked if the City was interested in participating, such as providing <br />some of the chips we have stored, as well as delivery.
