MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL APRIL 15, 1975 pg. 1 <br />Meeting called to order at 5:07 PM by Mayor Eder. <br />Present: Mayor Eder, Councilmen Shervheim and Pott and Councilwoman Lyons. <br />Absent: Councilman Abercrombie (vacation). <br />Also Present:Building Inspector Mueller, Counsel Raleigh, Engineer Bonestroo and <br />Forester Beach. <br />Administration Policy: Purchasing. Carried 4-0. <br />Lowell Reiks:Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilman Pott that permit to <br />build a 28x40 barn be approved based on the recommendation of the PZC. <br />Counsel to prepare agreement which will be written into the abstract <br />spelling out conditions under which barn can remain on the property. <br />Carried 4-0. <br />White Sign Co.:Constructed sign on Highway L 94 without a sign installers license <br />or a permit. Sign did not conform to appropriate code. White Sign Co. <br />has agreed to tear down old sign, relocate sign at an approved site, <br />build sign to the required code and take out all the necessary permits. <br />Motion by Councilman Pott 2nd by Councilman Shervheim to approve the <br />sign and withdraw law suit subject to their complying with the agreed <br />to conditions. Carried 4-0. <br />Haase: Complaint that he is using his property and garage for repair of tractors <br />and trucks which is in violation of the zoning for that area. Mr. Mueller <br />advised him of this and that he could possibly lose his Special Use <br />Permit if he persists in the operation. Mr. Haase.agreed to clean this <br />up as soon as weather permitted. <br />Motion by Councilman Pott 2nd by Councilman Shervheim to have the <br />building inspector check again in a month and if situation is not <br />corrected to take required action. Carried 4-0. <br />Batten -Timber: Mr Benson and Mr. Auger appeared. They reported that from April 4 - <br />April 14, 1975 they produced 35 cubic yards of bulk chips. During the <br />period they received 70 new loads but had gained 53 loads on the stock- <br />pile. Balance remaining 150 loads. <br />Forester Beach had made a biological check on 216 galleries (inside bark) <br />and none had advanced to pupa stage of life cycle. It is determined that <br />we have until April 29 before emergence of the bark beatle. Mr. Benson <br />stated they will be current by that date with all material cycling within <br />the required 72 hours. <br />Forester Beach authorized to obtain claim from the city office on Gopher <br />Stamp & Die for 100 decals (haulers license), pressure sensitive at an <br />approximate cost of $.70 ea.Haulers will be given onedecal with each <br />permit. Additional decals (required on each vehicle) available for $1.00 <br />each. Council will amke personal inspection of Batten Site on Saturday <br />April 26, 1975 at 10:00 AM. <br />
