MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL SEPTEMBER 23, 1975 <br />Meeting called to order at 5:19 PM by Mayor Eder. <br />Present: Mayor Eder, Councilmen Abercrombie, Shervheim & Pott &•Councilwoman Lyons. <br />Also Present:Counsel Raleigh and Engineer Noyes. <br />Flood Control:Engineer Noyes advised that as of today the flow from Long Lake thru <br />the culvert is about 2" deep. Olson Lake is at 929.62. Lake Jane is now <br />at 921.43' up .01" since the pump was shut off. Sunfish Lake is now at <br />890.43 up approx. 1" since pumping stopped. <br />Engineer Noyes presented his proposed Interim Plan for Flood Control <br />Management relating first the problems and then the recommended actions. <br />Discussion on plan with council and citizens and noting of changes. <br />Motion by Councilman Abercrombie 2nd by Councilman Shervheim to adopt <br />the Interim Plan as amended and directed that copies be sent to the <br />DNR and VBWD and that the city adopt the recommendations of the plan. <br />Carried 5-0. <br />Mr. George Hedges pointed out that there is a considerable delay in <br />transmittal of information regarding precipitation to the weather bureau. <br />It was suggested that a local facility be set up who would have the in- <br />formation available on a current basis. <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilman Pott that the City of <br />Lake Elmo request the State Highway Department to establish a weather <br />station at the Oakdale facility.
