R-75-11 <br />RESOLUTION <br />CITY OF LAKE ELMO <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />A RESOLUTION URGING APPOINTMENT OF CALVIN J. (KELLY) <br />BROOKMAN TO THE METROPOLITAN WASTE CONTROL COMMISSION <br />WHEREAS, the untimely death of Vernon Stenseng has created a vacancy on the <br />Metropolitan Waste Control Commission, depriving Washington County of its repre- <br />sentation on such commission; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lake Elmo City Council believes it imperative that this vacancy <br />be filled promptly by an able, thoughtful person familiar with the Washington County <br />situation, and particularly with the needs in the areas most iminently involved with <br />sewer planning in order that the quality of representation which Mr. Stenseng pro- <br />vided during his lifetime might be continued; and <br />WHEREAS, Calvin J. (Kelly) Brockman through his many years of service in a <br />variety of capacities, including those of mayor and of councilman of Lake Elmo has <br />demonstrated a unique ability to employ for the benefit of any body or board on <br />which he serves, and of the people he represents, his skills at analyzing and pro- <br />blem -salving; and <br />WHEREAS, his familiarity with the needs for waste control in Washington County, <br />coupled with the qualities hereinabove mentioned, appear to make him an excellent <br />choice for membership on the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo <br />does hereby endorse and urge the appointment of Calvin J. (Kelly) Brookman as a mem- <br />ber of the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission of the Twin City area to fill the <br />vacancy created by the untimely death of Commissioner Vernon Stenseng. <br />Adopted by the City Council this 18th day of March, 1975. <br />Maynard L.
