R-75-27 <br />RESOLUTION <br />CITY OF LAKE ELMO <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACQUISITION OF PARK <br />LAND - WHITMAN PARCEL AT NEGOTIATED PURCHASE PRICE <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore authorized the acquisition of cer- <br />tain landsfor park purposes including a tract of land, owned by Edward and Laverne <br />Whitman and referred to as the "Whitman parcel"; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has been engaged in a course of negotiation with the Whit - <br />mans and Whitmans have now offered to conclude a sale to the City at a purchase <br />price of $2750.00 per acre; and <br />WHEREAS, based on the City appraisal and the recommendations of the Park <br />Advisory Committee and the City Attorney, the City Council has determined the <br />said price to be fair and reasonable; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is anxious to acquire said land without the delay, <br />expense and risks involved in proceeding with the condemnation action now pending <br />to acquire the same: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo <br />that the City accept the counter-offer of Edward G. and Laverne Whitman to sell <br />to the City a 10 3/4 tract of land at the price of $2750.00 per acre. The Council <br />does hereby authorize the inclusion of an additional three quarters of an acre as <br />part of the so-called Whitman parcel in order to provide lake access to Sunfish <br />Lake along the entire southern boundary of the said parcel. <br />Adopted by the City Council this 29th day of July, 1975. <br />e, eze,) <br />Maynar L.
