MINUTES OF THE LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MEETING, July 6, 1976. <br />Meeting called to order at 6:18 p.m., by Mayor Eder. <br />Present: Mayor Eder, Councilmen Abercrombie, Shervheim and Pott <br />Councilwoman Lyons (6:45 p.m.) <br />Also present: Bldg. Insp.Mueller, Counsel Raleigh and Fna. Noyes(7:10p.m.) <br />Nekton, Inc: 10092 Stillwater Lane, Peter Sajevic. Proposal is for <br />home to have 6 full time residents and a caretaker couple. <br />Present persons considered are six partially mentally <br />retarded women; ages 18-40. Legally the city can't deny <br />request as long as building meets all the code require- <br />ments. Spokesman said last fall communities were in- <br />vited to attend a meeting to offer input. Lake Elmo <br />maintains initial notification was June 9, 1976. <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilman Abercrombie <br />instructing clerk to write letter to Department of Public <br />Welfare that we have reviewed the proposal, we are dis- <br />appointed with late notice, we expect full compliance <br />with the building code and we're confident that these <br />residents will be good neighbors. Carried 5-0. <br />Park Advisory Committee: Dave Morgan explained several improvements <br />that the committee would like approval. Each was re- <br />viewed. <br />Motion by Councilman Abercrombie 2nd by Councilman <br />Shervheim to approve expenditure which total $960. <br />and include 8400. for two picnic tables, one in Lions <br />Park and a second in Demontreville Park; $400, for <br />grass seed for seeding 5 acres of Sunfish Park; $60. <br />for membership in Minnesota Recreation and Park Assoc. <br />( 9 members) and finally $100. for 2 benches to be <br />installed at tennis court. <br />Carried 5-0. <br />Olinger Plat: Councilman Shervheim offered ResolutionCR76-i1.9`:accept- <br />-- <br />inq the recommendation of the PZC and approvng the <br />minor sub -division plat of Carl Olinger for 2. lots of <br />1 acre size which abut the South right-of-way of Lake <br />Jane Trail No., in government Lot 5, Section 10, and <br />requested council confirmation. Second by Councilman <br />Pott. Carried 5-0. <br />Moris Plat Approval: Councilman Shervheim offered Resolution R76-20 <br />to approve the minor subdivision plat of the Moris <br />property (N 1/4 of SE 1/4 of. Section 10 ) and asked <br />council confirmation. Second by Councilwoman Lyons. <br />Carried 5-0. <br />Dean Dworak: Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilman Abercrombie <br />to amend the motion in the minutes of the June 15, 1976 <br />meeting to require Mr. Dworak to furnish the City_ with <br />a certificate of survey rather than a registered land <br />survey. Carried 5-0. <br />
