J200 <br />WASHIKVTON COUNT`rl., MMUM TA <br />A RESOLUTION PERTAINI%G TO THE ASSESSN£NT Op FLOOD <br />DAMAGED LANDS <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo has reviewed thip <br />report of its.board of Review relating to the assessment of lands for tax <br />purposes in the City of bake Elmo and finds a number of requests for re- <br />duction in assessed valuation have been made on the grounds th#t the property <br />has been damaged by flooding in recent years and has, as a result, been <br />reduced in market value; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is aware of other areas in Washington County <br />in which property has been damaged by high water; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council understands that it is the obligation of the <br />County to maintain equal valuations and tax assessment procedures with the <br />County: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT.id390,M, that the City Council of the City of <br />Lake Elmo hereby requests that the W"hington County Board of Commissioners <br />establish a standard for adiustoq values abd assessing lakeshore lots <br />which will take into Account the affect of MW damage on such property, <br />whether or not improved, and instruct the County Assessor to make such ad- <br />justments as may be appropriate an a County-wid=. basis but in no case shall <br />a reduction in value be greater than fifteen (15) per oent of the actual market <br />value of the property after taking into account such damage. <br />Adopted by the City Council this lot aLey.of J1nne, 1976. <br />t <br />�%YWM L.
