Minutes of Lake Elmo City Council Meeting, May 17, 1977 -- pg. 2 <br />Minutes: Motion by Mayor Armstrona 2nd by Councilman Shervheim <br />to approve minutes of Council meeting of May 3, 1977 as <br />submitted. Carried 4-0. <br />Motion by Councilman Pott 2nd by Councilman Shervheim <br />to approve minutes of Special Meeting of the Lake Flmo <br />City Council May 12., 1977 as submitted. Carried 4-0. <br />PZC Replacement: Council interviewed Donald Moris, Richard Hesse, <br />Howard Michels and Nancy Prince relative to appointed <br />to the PZC to fill out the unexpired term. of Tom Torseth <br />(Dec. 31, 1978). Decision on final appointment deferred <br />to June 7th. meeting. <br />Sewer Proposal --old City of Lake Flmo--Engineer Tom Noyes delivered <br />10 copies of the "Renort on old Village Area Sanitary <br />Sewer Service for Lake Elmo, Minn. 1977". <br />Copies to mayor, council, Larry rahittaker, Ann Skinner, <br />Mollie Hedges and Don Raleigh. Two copies placed in city <br />office ---Additional 15 copies were reauested. of these two <br />will go to HTAshington County Library and the balance to <br />the Sewer Study Committee and balance to pzc. <br />Engineer Noyes outlined the proposal on a sewer system and <br />explained the variations presented in the report. Total <br />estimated cost $1,399,400. About 20 interested citizens <br />were on hand and offered encouraaement to the council to <br />proceed as quibkly as possible on an affirmative plan. <br />Members of the Sewer Studv Committee to be contacted to <br />determine their willingness to serve and then any vacancies <br />would be filled so this committee can study this proposal <br />and offer comments. <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Mavor Armstrrona to <br />proceed with the recommendations of the Fngineer. Counsel <br />and City Administrative Assistant to coordinate the efforts <br />to determine what funds are available and to determine <br />which applications for funding should be pursued first. <br />Also to proceed with recommendations on page 13 of engineer <br />report. Carried 4-0, <br />VBVTD--------- Managers A. Dornfeld and A. Horninq apneared to discuss <br />the communications problems between city and board. Before <br />discussing, Mar. Dornfeld presented the city with a check <br />for $500. in appreciation for use of city hall over the last <br />few years. <br />Managers agreed to expedite distribution of their minutes <br />so the council. would be aware of current decisions of VB10D. <br />City agreed to send copies of minutes to VRr,,TD so they were <br />aware of city action on matters of common concern. <br />Claims: Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Mayor Armstrong <br />authorizing payment of claims 77464 thru 77490, Carried 4-0. <br />Administrative Assistant: Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Mayor <br />Armstrong to approve title of Administrative Assistant for <br />Mr. Lawrence Whittaker. Carried 4-0. <br />Clerk to arrange for name plate for Mr. V.1hittaker. <br />
