MINUTES OF THP LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MEETING, MAY 3, 1977 -- pg. 3 <br />3M File -- 3M will appear at the PZC meeting May 10, 1977 to <br />discuss current status of development. Council and <br />other interested parties invited to attend. <br />Midwest Planning asked city approval to meet with 3M <br />regarding overall plan. All expenses incurred would <br />be on a pass thru basis. <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilwoman Lyons <br />to approve Midwest Planning working with 3" on the <br />new development proposed. Carried 4-0, <br />Smoke Detectors: City has 100 plug-in fire detectors. Since the <br />fire department will not be handlina the program, clerk <br />suggested we sell direct to the citizens at $25.00 rather <br />than proposed $30.00. Council agreed to sale of detectors <br />thru city office at $25.00. <br />Speed limits: Counsel and clerk to get together and prepare a <br />resolution covering areas where slower speed zones <br />should be requested and submit to council for approval. <br />PZC Appointment: After some discussion it was decided to consider <br />Mr. Hesse, Mr. Michels and Mr. Moris. They will be in- <br />vited to next council meeting for interview. Clerk to <br />advise thru news media that anyone having an interest <br />in serving on the nzc could fill out a questionaire <br />available from the city office. <br />Stouvenal Sub -division: Bruce Folz-- Action held pending report from <br />engineer with his recommendations. <br />Claimsi Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilman Morgan <br />to approve claims 77432 thru 77463. Carried 4-0. <br />Administrator-- Clerk instructed to send letter to Mahtomedi stating <br />city position of Lake Elmo. Letter to specify that we <br />have approved cooperative venture on a one vear basis <br />and sharing the cost of employee. Also that this <br />decision applies whether or not we obtain grant. <br />Fire Department Monitors-- Since we have been unable to get a second <br />quote, authorization given to pzrchase from sole bidder. <br />Sweeping: Clerk advised that only one quotation had been received <br />for sweeping streets. <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Mavor Armstrong <br />to proceed on basis of lone bid rather than to delay <br />awaiting additional response. Carried 4-0. <br />Systems Statement --Schedule next meeting. <br />Adjournment: Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilman Morgan <br />to adjourn at 9:55 p.m. Carried 4-0. <br />0 <br />
