Minutes of Lake Elmo City Council Meeting, October 17, 1978. Pg 2 <br />Tennis Court Grant: Since the final cost for installation of lights on <br />the tennis courts at Lions Park was less than the original <br />estimate on which grant was awarded, clerk was directed to <br />deterthine total cost and then make preparation for return <br />of the excess grant funds. <br />Minutes October 3, 1978: Motion by Councilman Pott 2nd by Councilman <br />Shervheim to appro" minutes of council meeting of October <br />3, 1978 as submitted. Carried 5-0. <br />Minutes October 13, 1978: Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by council- <br />woman Lyons to approve minutes of Special Meeting of <br />October 13, 1978 as submitted. Carried 4-0. <br />Mayor abstained because he was not at meeting. <br />Correspondence: Letter (petition) from residents owning roperty abutting <br />city owned property on 33rd. Lane N. requesting that the <br />city do something about cleaning the property. Petition <br />referred to Adm. Assistant for scheduling of work. <br />J&W Boat Works: Jim Griffin requests permission to construct a new cold <br />storage building (70'x 2001) on his property at 9200 <br />Hudson Blvd. within 15 ft. of present structure on property. <br />Bldg. Inspector advised that it should be a 60 ft. separa- <br />tion. <br />Motion by Mayor Armstrong 2nd by Councilman Shervheim to <br />approve permit subject to code approval with a minimum <br />separation of 30 ft. Carried 5-0. <br />Assessor: Resignation has not been received to date. County advised <br />that if we want their services they want a decision <br />since they have to arrange for proper personnel. <br />Forester: Still no resignation from Mr. Beach. Adm. Assistant to pursue <br />this to get a commitment and determine possible course <br />of action for 1979. <br />W. Cty. 6: - Dick Herold of the Washington County Hwy. Dept. explained <br />the plans for the improvement scheduled for Cty. Hwy. 6. <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilman Pott <br />to approve the plans for CSAH 6 except for the drainage <br />structures. Carried 5-0. <br />Bergman Mining Permit: Clerk advised that he had discussed the problem <br />with C & P Excavating of Bayport, Mn. They agreed to pay <br />the permit fee and the inspection fee($125.00) but re- <br />quested that city waive the bond requirement since this <br />is not a normal mining operation. Clerk agreed to waive <br />the bond and review matter again next spring. <br />Flood damage repair: There are several projects which were approved for <br />funding because.of flood damage.. 5 firms were solicited -- <br />nobody bid. Council agreed to postpone work on these <br />projects until 1979 when contractors would be available <br />for this type of work. <br />
