R79-6 <br />RESOLUTION <br />CITY OF LAKE ELMO <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />A RESOLUTION COMMENDING EDWARD G. WESTPHAL <br />FOR SERVICE TO THE CITY OF LAKE ELMO AS <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY SS'ERIFF <br />WHEREAS, Edward G. Westphal. has served the City of <br />Lake Elmo, as Washington County Sheriff, from January 1. <br />1970 to December 31, 1978, and as a member of the Washing- <br />ton County Sheriff's Department from August 16, 1955 until. <br />December 31, 1978: and, <br />WNEREAS.;, Edward G. Westphal has personally and through <br />his position as Washington County Sheriff promoted respect <br />for the law, a positive approach to law enforcement, and <br />community appreciation for law enforcement efforts; anal,` <br />WHEREAS, Edward G. Westphal has the respect and ad- <br />miration of the citizens of the City of Lake Elmo; <br />NOWy, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of <br />the City of Lake Elmo that Edward G. Westphal be and is <br />hereby commended for his untiring devotion to the duties <br />of the Sheriff's office; and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Councilexpresses <br />the appreciation of the City of Lake Elmo for Mr. Westphal's <br />contribution to and efforts on behalf of this City. <br />Adopted this the 16th day of January, 1979, by the City <br />Council, City of Lake Elmo, <br />homas G.
