R-79-45 <br />RESOLUTION <br />CITY OF LAKE ELMO <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN <br />JOINT AIRPORT ZONING BOARD <br />At a meeting of the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo, <br />on the 18th. day of September, 1979, councilperson Armstrong, <br />seconded by councilperson Johnson, introduced the following <br />resolution and moved its adoption: <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Airport Commission (here- <br />inafter "the "MAC") owns and controls the Lake Elmo <br />Airport, a public airport located in Washington County; <br />and <br />FdHEREAS, ,Minnesota Statutes Section 360.061-360.074 <br />mandate that certain properties surrounding the above - <br />mentioned airport, a part of which property is located <br />within the territorial limits of this City, and <br />WHEREAS, the MAC has requested in writing that this <br />City join with it and other affected_ municipalities and <br />townships in the creation of a Joint Airport Zoning Board; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, this City deems it necessary and expedient <br />to participate in such a Joint Airport Zoning Board in <br />cooperation with the MAC and other affected municipalities <br />and townships pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 360. <br />063, Subd. 3, and other applicable laws, for the purpose <br />of establishing, administering and enforcing zoning laws <br />for the area surrounding the airport and for the protection <br />of the airport and the public; and <br />WHEREAS, the above statute provides that this City <br />has the right to appoint two persons to said Board (said <br />persons need not be members of the Board). <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the undersigned <br />City of Lake Elmo as follows: <br />1. That there be created in cooperation with <br />the Metropolitan Airports Commission and other <br />affected municipalities, a Joint Airport Toning <br />Board composed of representatives of the under- <br />signed City and representatives of the other affected <br />municipalities and townships, as is designated by <br />Minnesota Statutes Section 360.063, Subd. 3. <br />
