R79-57 <br />7. There should be a requirement that elia ible <br />property must have compatible local zoning; so that local <br />plans and capital improvement programs can reflect this change <br />in status; and, <br />S. The requirement that land be in preserve for <br />eight years after the date of notification of intent to <br />cease agricultural operations should be reconsidered as it <br />may be so restrictive as to discourage preservation. A <br />provision for recapture of back taxes such as that found in <br />the "Green Acres" law may encourage caution in ending the <br />exemption without discouraging participation in the program. <br />Adopted this the llth day of December, 1979, by the City <br />Council of the City of Lake Elmo. <br />5 <br />signed ~z b17� <br />Thomas G.
