LAKE EIMO CITY COUNCIL MEETING, APRIL 15, 1980 <br />-5- <br />LICENSES: Morgan moved, seconded by Pott, to approve the licenses of the following: <br />Schwantes, Inc., 1908 S. Greely Street, Stillwater, Mn. <br />Rich Larson, All Season Comfort, 55 Mounds Ave.; New Brighton, Mn. <br />Bill Nissen, Contractor, 418 Holyhock Lane, Hopkins, Mn. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br />Residents will be notified through the Newsletter to call the City <br />Office with complaints concerning contractors working in the City. <br />CHURCH — LUNDQUIST PROPERTY: The Council has no opposition to a church at <br />this location (Co. 17 and Highway 36), provided sewer, drainage and <br />parking can adequately be handled on the proposed acerage. <br />ENERGY PROGRAM: Pott moved, seconded by Armstrong, to authorize $50 to send <br />the Building Inspector to an Energy Seminar. Motion carried 5-0. <br />MAINTENANCE GARAGE: TKDA has indicated the cost to earth shelter the maintenance <br />building will not be paid out in energy savings. The Council instructed <br />the Administrator to relate to TKDA they want a 50% earth sheltered <br />structure for $175,000. <br />SIGN ORDINANCE: Additional concerns have been expressed by the Business <br />Association concerning the Sign Ordinance. They would like <br />existing signs be granfsthered in and lighted signs be turned off <br />at the discretion of the business unless they create a nuisance. <br />They £eel.many of the lighted signs act as a security light. <br />The Council agreed to extend the time —limit on non —conforming signs <br />from three to five years; and; to allow only lighted signs that act <br />as security lighting to exempt from ordinance. <br />The Council instructed the Administrator to draft a final Sign <br />Ordinance for Council approval. <br />STATE CONFERENCE: Mottaz moved, seconded by Morgan, to authorize $140.03, <br />conference fee, for the City Administrator to attend the State <br />Managers Conference.
