LAKE UMO CITY COUNCIL MEETING, OCTOBE$i 21, 1980 -5- <br />ENGINEER'S REPORT: Maintenance Building Fill - Bob Mogren, contractor for the <br />Legion Avenue residents, contacted the .Engineer about using the material <br />at the landfill. The 11agineer said he should be able to remove almost all <br />the excess material at no cost to the City. <br />The Council agreed that removing the fill is of substantial benefit <br />04900045,000) to the City and that no costs should be assessed against <br />the three Legion Pond petitioners. The Administrator recommended getting <br />a price from Mogren to .finish the rough grading and gravel work on the <br />driveway and in front of the building. The Council discussed location <br />of the driveway. <br />Armstrong moved' seconded by Mottaz, to reaffirm the original site plan <br />location of the Maintenance Building driveway across from 42nd Street. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br />The Administrator will get a qudse from Mogren to finish the ,grading work <br />as shown on the plan, This will be ready ,for the Special Meeting October. 28, <br />MEETING DATE CIIANGE: Armstrong moved' seconded by Mottaz, to change the scheduled <br />Special Meeting from October 28, at .5:00 p.m. to Wednesday' October 29, <br />at 5:00 P.M. in order that Councilman Morgan can attend. Motion carried 5-0 <br />Bids on Park Trails, Office Roof, Jamaca Gate, and Finish Grading at the <br />Landfill will be considered. <br />15TH STREET VACATION: Mayor Armstrong reopened the public hearing at 8:12 p.m. <br />There was no one in the audience for the hearing. Mayor Armstrong closed <br />the hearing at 8:13 p.m. <br />Armstrong moved' seconded by Mottaz, to adopt R-80-609 vacating 15th Street <br />as indicated on the map. (Map attached and a part of these minutes.) <br />Motion carried 5-0, <br />SUMMARY ACTION ON LEGION POND: The Administrator reviewed the Engineers report <br />on pumping of the test wells. He reported that the water filled back in, <br />within minutes of being pumped out, thus indicating it is a groundwater <br />problem, as the Engineer had previously indicated. <br />ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT: <br />B. Firemens Camp Plan - Councilman Pott reported that the proposed plan <br />met with genera]. agreement of the Firemen. $5,300 was budgeted for the <br />firemen. It was distributed as follows: Chief - $125 per year; Assistant <br />Chief - $6100 per year; Ca tains - $675 per year; and Firemen $50 per ,year. <br />The balance (about $4,000� will be prorated on man -calls, per man. This <br />was developed by the Firemen. The Chief will present the final plan. <br />Morgan moved, seconded by Armstrong, to accept the proposed plan and dis- <br />tribution of the $659300 Firemen's Budget, subject to final presentation <br />of the plan by the Fire Chief, Motion carried 5-0. <br />E. Christman Lights - Armstrong moved, seconded by Morgan, to budget <br />$6200 to cover expenses in putting up and taking down the Christmas <br />lights; and the City will follow the same procedure used. .last year. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br />
