CITY OF LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MEETING, JANUARY 6, 1981 <br />-7- <br />"Gaylen" am- Conditional Use Permits - Springborn's Green Acres-*Gaylan <br />ended 1/20 Springborn explained that the loudspeakers at Green Acres would <br />81 no longer be used for music and that they would*c3krcct=7tkem at <br />the hill so as to cut down on the noise from the tubing area to <br />* ..be the adjacent residential neighborhoods. Mottaz indicated that the <br />directed... music did not annoy the neighbors as much as the announcements <br />and suggested that the Building Inspector check the noise levels <br />periodically and advise Springborn if they are excessive. The <br />speakers may have to be moved,at some point/ in order to cut down <br />on the noise problems. Gay1;en Springborn agreed that,should this <br />be necessary,they would see to it. <br />John Dill / Mobile Homes in Tartan Park - The Council asked that <br />the City Administrator secure a plan from the 3M Club for the <br />mobile homes in Tartan Park. The Council wants to know how long <br />they have been there, how long they plan to keep them there, to <br />what use they are being put and whether or not there will be some <br />permanent buildings replacing them in the future, before they <br />issue a new Conditional Use Permit for the mobile homes in <br />Tartan Park. At present the City Administrator reported, there <br />are three mobile homes. One is being used for a residence for <br />John Dill, one is being used as a ski shelter, and one is being <br />used as a radio shack for the Radio Club. <br />"'Salus" Ray*Salus Mobile Home - The Council instructed the Administrator <br />emended 1/20 to find out how long the Salus'plan to stay in the mobile home <br />81 and to find out if Mn/DOT is ready to return the property they <br />purchased from the*Silas' so that the Silas' may move back into <br />the home adjacent to the mobile home. <br />Morgan moved, seconded by Mottaz, to approve the renewal of the <br />Conditional Use Permits for Lauseng Stone, Springborn's Green <br />Acres and Oakwood Animal Hospital. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Mining Permits - Mottaz moved, seconded by Morgan, to approve the <br />mining permit for Schaefer Contracting on the property in the SW <br />IV�4 of the NE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Section 16. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Mottaz moved, seconded by Morgan, to approve the Mining Permit for <br />Hammes at 10105 loth Street N. subject to their correcting all the <br />problems indicated by the Building Inspector by July 1, 1981. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br />AMM: Mayor Eder explained that the City would not have a representative <br />on the Association of Metropolitan, Municipalities. The AMM has <br />representatives from each size catagory of City and not from each <br />City. He explained that this set-up was established to protect <br />smaller communities from the overriding influence of the two larger <br />communities in the metropolitan area. He said he would distribute <br />information on the AMM before the next City Council meeting so <br />that the Council might decide if they want to join again in 1981. <br />OLD BUSINESS: A. Olinger Use - taken care of at 8 p.m. <br />B. Ceramic`Shop by Lauseng Stone- Whittaker explained that the <br />CeraiD'.cSh6p---Ee--xt to Lauseng Stone met the requirements for a home <br />occupation and felt that a Conditional Use Permit was not necessary. <br />The Council took no action on this matter. <br />
