R81-23 <br />RESOLUTION <br />CITY OF LAICE ELMO <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING EROSION CONTROL <br />IN THE REGIONAL PARK AND ENCOURAGING IM- <br />PROVEMENTS TO PROVIDE PERMANENT SURFACE <br />WATER STORAGE <br />WHEREAS, Washington County intends to construct <br />an erosion control device in the west branch of Eagle <br />Point Lake to control erosion; and, <br />WHEREAS, that facility, with slight modification, <br />could permanently control as much as 90 acre feet sur- <br />face water which contributes to flooding on Eagle Point <br />Lake and downstream; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is the policy of the City of Lake Elmo <br />and the Valley Branch Watershed District to control flood- <br />ing, contribute to ground water recharge, limit erosion, <br />provide an alternative to large, expensive surface water <br />collection and discharge system, and reduce the impact of <br />lake level fluctuations in the Regional Park and downstream <br />environs; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council <br />of the City of Lake Elmo that: <br />1, The City of Lake Elmo supports the construction <br />of the erosion control device of the west branch <br />of Eagle Point Lake; and, <br />The City of Lake Elmo recommends and encourages <br />Washington County to modify that facility so <br />that it might contribute to the over-all manage- <br />ment of surface water run-off in the Valley <br />Branch Watershed District by providing permanent <br />storage behind the erosion control device. <br />ADOPTED this the 7th. day of April, 1981, by the <br />City Council of the City of Lake E mom Washington County, <br />Minnesota. <br />Signed:�`������ <br />Mayn d Eder, Mayore�J <br />ATTEST: <br />yu w.u� � <br />Laurence E.
