Schaefer, Jr..
Washington County Courthouse
14900 61st Street North
Stillwater, MN 55082
Dear Commissioner Schaefer:
Enclosed is a Resolution that was passed by the Lake Elmo City
Council on October 18, 1983. This Resolution deals with seeking a
solution to the drinking water problems for the residents near
the Ramsey/Washington County Landfil1#1 site.
This Resolution Is the result of a request from the Homeowners
for Eliminating Landfill Pollution (HELP) organization, and from
joint meetings between the Oakdale and Lake Elmo Planning
Commissions.
As the Resolution clearly indicates, the City of Lake Elmo is not
trying to direct the County toward any specific solution, but
encourages the County to take quick action in arriving at an
appropriate solution after studying all of the possible options.
The Cityof Lake Elmo is very concerned for all of its residents,
and when a serious problem arises, we feel obl-igated to do
whatever is possible to help solve the problem. I hope that this
Resolution will encourage the County to take quick action and to
examine all of the options available.
Please keep us informed on any action taken by the County
regarding the drinking water supply around the landfill.
If the City of Lake Elmo can be of any assistance to the County
in reaching or implementing a solution to this problem, please
feel free to contact me.
Very trully ours,
  • sz, Lam/
Patrick D.
