CITY OF
LAKE
ELMO
City of Lake Elmo 777-5510
3800 Laverne Avenue North / Lake Elmo, Minnesota 55042
September 1, 1988
TO: Mayor and City Council
FROM: Pat Morrison, City Administrator
SUBJECT: INFORMATIONAL MEMO
Mayor Christ will be late --and/or may be unable to attend the September
6th meeting.
NOTE: Your agenda packet for the Special Council meeting of September 8th
(Assessment Hearings) is also enclosed.
Park Dedication Fees, Brookman Addition:
At the August 16th Council meeting, the Council approved the Final Plat of
Brookman, 3rd Addition, (Resolution No. 88-36), deleting park dedication
fee requirements.
For your information, we did research our files and were able to determine
park dedication fees for Brookman 1st, 2nd and 3rd Additions were paid at
the time Brookman's 1st Addition was approved (see attached letter dated
October 2, 1978). Phase 1 was 14.7 acres, Phase 2 was 24.6 acres and
Phase 3 was 11.8 acres with roads encompassing 6.6 acres.
Contract with Junker (Compost):
Mr. Junker has not paid the outstanding statement of $5,115.34 yet, nor
has he signed the Contract. His organization has made one additional
deposit at the compost site. We have advised them that no further dumping
will be allowed until such time as his bill has been paid.
Sheriff's Department:
We are now receiving copies of Log Sheets indicating daily activities of
Deputies responsible for Lake Elmo; if the Council would like to see
these, please advise and I will copy for you.
Rent - City Hall:
Mr. Henning has made provision for payment of back rental due the City
(see attached letter). He did request that the City fix the foundation of
the building; in the northeast corner there is apparently a problem as the
basement floods out when it rains.
We had an inquiry about renting the building from Stephen Hodder, 3348 N.
Lake Elmo Avenue; he apparently has a glass-blowing business.
