LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES JULY 18, 1989 PAGE 6 <br />Mayor Dunn suggested advertising this PZ vacancy in the Sept/Oct. Lake <br />Elmo Newsletter. <br />M/S/P Hunt/Graves - to appoint Rita Conlin to fill the remainder of Al <br />Kunde's PZ appointment. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />M/S/P Hunt/Williams - to appoint Wyn John as 1st Alternate of the Lake <br />Elmo Planning Commission. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />B. Application 3.2 Beer Permit, Huff'n Puff <br />Huff'n Puff Days will be held on August 10-13, 1989. In the past the <br />Council has waived the fee for this event. The Sheriff's Office has <br />reviewed and approved the Permit. <br />M/S/P Hunt/Graves - resolved that, the council hereby approves a. 3.2 Beer <br />Permit for the Lake Elmo Jaycees from August 10th through August 13th, <br />1989 for Huff & Puff Days, and further that the $10.00 temporary, Beer <br />Permit fee is hereby waived. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />M/S/P Hunt/Graves - to recommend, if possible, the Lake Elmo Jaycees <br />consult with Teddie Carlson of the Solid Waste Advisory Committee <br />concerning the use of more biodegradable and/or recyclables during Huff'n <br />Puff Days. (Motion carried 5-0) <br />C. Meeting with Oakdale Council Representatives <br />The Oakdale City Council has expressed interest in scheduling meetings at <br />which we can discuss issues affecting our boundaries. Mayor. Dunn, <br />Councilman Hunt and Administrator Morrison, with Councilman Graves as an <br />alternate, will attend the July 27, 1989 evening meeting. <br />D. Update: Forthcoming Ordinances <br />The Council recommended the I-94 Freeway Corridor Ordinance wait until the <br />Comprehensive Plan is completed. <br />M/S/P Moe/Hunt - to add as Item 10E. Lake Elmo Park Reserve --Safety <br />Concerns to the July 18, 1989 City Council Agenda. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />E. Lake Elmo Park Reserve --Safety Concerns. <br />Councilman Moe expressed his safety concerns on the intersection of the <br />Lake Elmo Park Reserve which has been the site of some recent accidents. <br />The Council discussed requesting Washington County review safety factors <br />at the intersection of County Road 10 (Minnehaha) and County Road 19 <br />(entrance to the Park Reserve.) The Administrator and Mayor had already <br />Copt i �esth C Idea gn tEg5fic & saf_ety concerns because the three recent <br />IM/P Graves�/AHunt - to eirect the City Administrator to write a letter to <br />the County Board requesting a study of traffic patterns and the Council <br />strongly recommends they take action to minimize the danger, with a <br />minimum action of installation of speed bumps on C.R. 3.9. (Motion carried <br />5-0). <br />M/S/P Graves/Moe - to adjourn the City Council meeting at 10:05 p.m. <br />(Motion carried 5-0). <br />
