RESOLUTION NO. 89-31 <br />CITY OF LAKE E'LMO <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING FUTURE LAND USE MAP CONCEPT AND <br />DIRECTING AMENDMENT TO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />WHEREAS, a consensus of the City Council was reached for approval <br />of a Future Land Use Plan as indicated by the zoning district map, <br />dated May 4, 1989, and as signed by Mayor Dunn and Councilmembers <br />Charles Graves, Donald Moe, and Todd Williams (Councilmember Lee Hunt <br />having been excused from the meeting); and, <br />WHEREAS, said map indicates areas eligible for future R-1 (1-1/2 <br />acre) development, Residential Estates (2-1/2 and 5 acre) development, <br />and (as an interim name) Interstate Freeway Business development <br />(along I-94 corridor); and, <br />WHEREAS, the Council finds that Lake Elmo currently faces <br />numerous proposals for RE -type development; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Council deems it necessary to amend the text of the <br />updated Comprehensive Plan to incorporate the philosophy and direction <br />of the Council, as outlined in the Future Land Use Map, as approved by <br />consensus of the Council on May 4, 1989, and as amended by consensus <br />on May 16, 1989. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT the City Council hereby <br />directs the Planning Commission and City staff to: <br />1. Amend the text of the 1989 Comprehensive Plan to reflect <br />the intent of the Future Land Use Map; as adopted May 4 <br />and amended May 16, 1989; <br />2. Present the revised Comprehensive Plan to the Council for <br />review, after which the Planning Commission shall hold a <br />public hearing on the Comprehensive Plan Amendments, <br />including the Future Land Use Map; <br />3. Present to the Council for review the proposed ordinances, <br />including standards, establishIngthe new RE-2.5 and RE-5 acre <br />zoning categories, after which the Planning Commission shall <br />hold a public hearing on this new zoning ordinance; <br />4. Present to the Council for review the proposed ordinance, <br />including standards, establishing the (as an interim <br />name) Interstate Freeway Business zoning category, after <br />which the Planning Commission shall hold a public hearing <br />on this zoning ordinance. <br />ADOPTED this 16th day of May, 1989, by the City Council of the <br />City of Lake Elmo, Washington Cou .--.Minneso a. <br />x0 <br />a Dunn, Mayor <br />
