1990 <br />Memorandum of Agreement for <br />Curbside Recycling Grant Distribution <br />THIS AGREEMENT made and entered into as of this day <br />of , 1990, by and between the County of <br />Washington, hereinafter referred to as the "County", and the <br />City of Lake Elmo, hereinafter referred to as the "City". <br />WHEREAS, the County desires to encourage and support <br />residential recycling to reduce the County's reliance on <br />landfills, and <br />WHEREAS, the Washington County Board of Commissioners has <br />budgeted money for 1990 to be used to further develop recycling <br />service in the County, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lake Elmo. and the City of Pine Springs <br />and the Township of Grant wish to conduct a joint .ourbside <br />recycling collection program with the City of Lake Elmo <br />coordinating the program. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereto agree as follows: <br />1. Term. <br />The term of the Agreement shall be from the date this <br />Agreement is approved by the County Board to <br />December 31, 1990. <br />2. The County's obligation: <br />a. The County will pay the City an amount equal to ten <br />dollars and fifty cents per household which shall equal <br />$21,798.00 as determined using the Metropolitan <br />Council's 1989 Population Estimates. <br />b. The County will pay the City an amount equal to <br />$13,587.00, which is the recycling grant allocation for <br />the City of Pine Springs and the Township of Grant <br />based on Metropolitan Council's 1989 Population <br />Estimates. All grant funds received will be used to <br />provide recycling services and public education as <br />identified in Section 3.c. of this Agreement. <br />c. Indemnify and hold the City harmless from any claims, <br />suits, or damages arising out of any act or omission of <br />the County, its officers, employees, or agents in the <br />performance of the services provided for by this <br />Agreement. <br />1 <br />
