LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES MARCH 6, 1990 PAGE 9 <br />M/S/P Williams/Graves - to approve the installation by the County for <br />a stop sign for the intersection of "City Hall Road" and Laverne <br />Avenue at a cost of $50.00 (Motion carried 4-0). <br />B. Bids for Truck <br />Maintenance Foreman, Dan Olinger, received bids that were let to <br />replace the 1983 Dump Truck. <br />The Council requested the CIP Committee meet with the Maintenance <br />Foreman to disucss this request. The Council postponed a motion until <br />the next Council meeting for the CIP Committee's recommendation. <br />C. Request fromm Olympic Committee <br />The City received a letter, dated March 1, 1.990, from Connie Israel, <br />Dir. of Venues, requesting appropriate permits for the following: <br />1. Lake traffic control: During practice times boat <br />traffic will. be restricted to "no wake" speed. <br />During competition times no boat traffic is allowed. <br />2. Parking Control: Highway 17 should be posted as no <br />parking during the Festival to prevent spectators from <br />parking along the roadway and watching the event. <br />3. Operations parking: Request to park a construction <br />trailer at the end of Klondike road near the norh end <br />of the lake. <br />In addition, Klondike should be controlled to prevent <br />spectators from parking along the street and entering <br />the park from the north end. <br />Connie Israel has met with Mike Johnson, Washington County Sheriff, to <br />discuss these issues. He assured her that he can provide the support <br />to enforce these policies as long as they have been approved by the <br />City. <br />The Council had a concern as to someone staying overnight in the <br />construction trailer which was requested in Item 3. and asked for a <br />definition of a construction trailer. <br />M/S/P Armstrong/Graves - to direct the staff to prepare the resolution <br />to facilitate the requests of the Olympic Committee, in their letter <br />dated March 1, 1990, and the City requests their definition of a <br />construction trailer. (Motion carried 4-0). <br />
