over 50 years of dedication to the fire service June 4, 1990 Chief Dick Sachs Lake Elmo Fire Dept. 3800 Laverne Ave. Lake Elmo, MN 55042 Dear Dick; I'm writing in regards to our meeting last week at your station about the work you would like performed on your Tele-Squrt. Per our conversation that day I would propose the following. Remove the existing steel runningboards, compartment floors and chassis cab step enclosures and replace with newly fabricated aluminum treadplate runningboards, compartment floors and cab step enclosure to match the current ones. While the old steps, floors and runningboards are removed we would clean up any rusted areas exposed and prime and repaint to match the existing paint. Remove the existing steel treadplate rear face on the body and replace with a new aluminum treadplate rear body face including, a new aluminum treadplate compartment for the Tele-Squrt communications equipment. We would remove and reuse the existing light fixtures and other hardware where possible. Remove the existing rear kick plates at the bottom of the rear compartments and replace them with new aluminum treadplate kickplates. Add aluminum treadplate on the insides of the rear beavertails from the runningboards to the top of the compartments, and from the rear of the hosebed to the rear of the body, to provided a scratch resistant surface when hose is pulled from the hosebed. Remove the existing right side rear compartment doors and replace with two flush mounted, vertically hinged compartment doors to match the existing vertically hinged doors on the apparatus. Doors shall be painted to match the apparatus body and shall include stainless steel hinges and hardware and spring type door holders.
