It is very difficult for drivers to see each <br />other and this situation is aggravated when drivers are <br />travelling South on Lake Elmo Avenue North at speeds in excess <br />of 25mph during winter driving conditions. <br />Recommended Solutions: <br />a. Lower the speed limit in this area to 25mph. <br />b. Install 3-way stop signs at this intersection with <br />corresponding speed ruts on Lake Elmo Avenue N. <br />c. More frequent and strict enforcement. <br />Hazard #4. Near the address of 2119 Lake Elmo Avenue North, <br />there is a hill and curve combination that leaves little time <br />for drivers and pedestrians to react to each other. This <br />situation is aggravated by vehicles using speeds in excess of <br />30mph. <br />Recommended Solutions: <br />a. <br />Lower the <br />speed <br />limit <br />in <br />this <br />area to <br />30mph. <br />b. <br />Install a <br />3-way <br />stop <br />sign <br />at <br />20th and <br />Lake Elmo Avenue North. <br />C. Pursue more strict and frequent enforcement. <br />Iiazard #5. At the intersection of Highway 5 and Lake Elmo Avenue <br />North, across from the Chrysler dealership, it is difficult <br />and hazardous for vehicles to exit from Lake Elmo Avenue North <br />onto Highway 5 due to traffic volume and excessive speed by <br />vehicles on Highway 5. <br />Recommended Solution: <br />a. Install a traffic light at this intersection. <br />Hazard #6. At the intersection of Highway 5 and Klondike Avenue, <br />there is a poor shoulder condition making it difficult for <br />vehicles to exit Highway 5 onto Klondike. <br />Recommended Solution: <br />a. Install a right hand turn lane at the intersection of Highway <br />5 and Klondike Avenue. <br />
