May 3, 1990 <br />NEW JOB DESCRIPTION - PARKS <br />Title: Park Foreman or Park Supervisor or Park Manager and <br />Tree Inspector <br />Position Function: Plans and carries out all of the physical <br />needs of Lake Elmo Parks. <br />Works with and makes recommendations to <br />Lake Elmo Park Commission. <br />Seeks and presents bids on park work and/or <br />equipment for Lake Elmo park work not done <br />directly by Parks Department. <br />Organizational Relationship: Reports to City Administrator and <br />City Council. <br />Directs and reviews work of assigned <br />personnel. <br />Qualifications: Ability to plan and carry out park maintenance jobs. <br />Have some education/experience in the field of <br />forestry - necessary to perform the duties of the <br />Tree Inspector. <br />Ability to operate equipment necessary for park <br />maintenance. <br />Is broadly familiar with and interested in the <br />maintenance and development of Lake Elmo Parks. <br />Has the ability to communicate with City Personnel, <br />the City Council, and the Parks Commission. <br />Specific Responsibilities: <br />Perform or direct all work necessary for <br />park maintenance, <br />Attend Park Commission meetings and offer <br />suggestions or explanations as requested. <br />Appraise the Park Commission of special <br />park needs or problems. <br />Write specifications for bids on equipment <br />or services necessary to improve Lake Elmo <br />Parks. <br />Work with the City Council, Park Commission <br />and volunteers to develop Lake Elmo Parks to <br />their highest potential. <br />Perform the duties of Tree Inspector and <br />work with the Lake Elmo Tree Board. <br />
