BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO. 1-0 <br />DATE May 28, 1991 <br />BY COMMISSIONER Evert <br />DEPARTMENT Administration <br />SECONDED BY COMMISSIONER McMullen <br />Sales Tax Resolution <br />WHEREAS, The 1991 Minnesota Legislature passed the Omnibus <br />Tax Bill which provides for an increase in the sales tax from <br />6.0% to 6.5% effective.July 1, 1991, and <br />WHEREAS, the bill provides that unless each county acts to <br />enact the sales tax increase by July 1, 1991, the county and <br />all cities and townships with the county will face elimination <br />of all local government aid, homestead and agricultural credit <br />aid, and other aids identified in the bill, and <br />WHEREAS, the Washington County Board of Commissioners wish <br />to make a decision based on the knowledge of the preferences of <br />the cities and townships in the county, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Washington County <br />Board of Commissioners requests that all city councils and <br />township boards vote by resolution by June 19, 1991, requesting <br />that the County Board enact or reject this sales tax increase <br />as provided in the 1991 Omnibus Tax Bill. <br />ATTEST z 9 4�'e� YES NO <br />( COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR EVERT X <br />HAUSER X <br />HEGBERG X <br />MCMULLEN X <br />CHAIRMAN, COUNTY BOARD SCHEEL X <br />
