PUBLIC INQUIRIES <br />Comments submitted by Susan Dunn <br />August 6, 1991 <br />The people of Lake Elmo are DISTRESSED over the <br />inappropriate action taken by Mayor Dave Johnson and <br />Councilman Jess Mottaz when they denied the rezoning <br />for the Stonegate development near Goose Lake south of <br />loth Street. <br />This residential development would have, conservatively, <br />increased the tax base in Lake Elmo by $15 million. <br />The landowner has sued the City because of this illegal <br />denial for rezone. <br />The costs of the lawsuit will be borne by the taxpayers <br />of Lake Elmo. <br />Residents of Lake Elmo should demand public censure of <br />MAYOR JOHNSON and COUNCILMAN JESS MOTTAZ for their illegal <br />action. <br />
