PUBLIC INQUIRIES
Dan Novak, Co -Chair of ReAPP, stated they are not opposing
staff salary increases, but as a matter of fact, the
Administrator and staff have been ReAPP's best allies in this
fight, and from this standpoint they deserve a raise.
However, the referendum funds should not be used for any
purpose other than directly fighting the landfill. The
referendum question was very specific stating that the funds
would be used for the purpose of opposing placement of a
landfill. This fight is not yet over. Legal expenses are
currently being incurred and will continue for some time yet
to come. For these reasons, ReAPP core members unanimously
recommend that the referendum funds be used for only legal,
engineering, and public relations expenses directly related
to fighting the landfill until Lake Elmo is dropped as a
landfill site from the siting processes.
