MINUTES APPROVED: January 5, 1993 <br />LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br />DECEMBER 15, 1992 <br />Mayor Johnson called the city council meeting to order at <br />7:00 p.m. in the city council chambers. PRESENT: Mayor <br />Johnson, Hunt, Dick Johnson, Mottaz, Williams, City Engineer <br />Bohrer, City Attorney Filla, and Administrator Kueffner. <br />1. AGENDA <br />M/S/F Williams/Hunt - to delete the agenda items under City <br />Council Reports/Mayor Johnson because the items should be <br />passed on to the new city council. (Motion failed 2-3: <br />Mayor Johnson, Mottaz, Dick Johnson). <br />2, MINUTES: December 1, 1992 <br />M/S/P Mottaz/Dick Johnson - to approve the December 1, 1992 <br />City Council minutes as amended. (Motion carried 4-0- <br />1:Abstain: Dick Johnson). <br />MINUTES: December 9, 1992 <br />M/S/P Williams/Hunt - to approve the December 9, 1992 City <br />Council minutes as presented. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />3. CLAIMS <br />M/S/P Williams/Hunt - to approve the December 15, 1992 <br />Claims #1174 through #1179 as presented. (Motion carried 5- <br />0). <br />3. OLD BUSINESS: <br />A. Isle Avenue (petition for improvement) <br />Several Council members indicated the costs involved to put <br />a street through is way above the benefit assigned to the <br />abutting properties. Mayor Johnson believed this road <br />should ultimately be a through street. Councilman Johnson <br />shared this concern, but in reality the city cannot afford <br />to put a street through. Therefore, the council has to be <br />careful using cul-de-sacs as a planning tool and the <br />developer should be forced to develop a road plan. <br />M/S/P Williams/Mottaz - to reject the petition for extension <br />of Isle Avenue North between Springborn's Green Acres Second <br />Addition and Jane Road North. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />
