LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES MAY 18, 1993 7 <br />Council member Johnson reported he and Solid Waste Committee <br />member Carl Tacke attended a workshop on wet/dry recycling <br />and composting. He will forward the information to the Solid <br />Waste Committee for their consideration. <br />9. CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT: <br />A. Employee Annual Review: Mike Buckles <br />M/S/C Mottaz/Conlin - to approve the classification change <br />from Light Equipment Operator to Heavy Equipment Operator <br />for Mike Buckles and that his wage be increased to $11.42 <br />per hour (a .67 cent per hour increase) and this be <br />retroactive to May 1, 1993. This $1,051 will be taken out <br />of the General Fund. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />B. Utility Tractor for Maintenance Dept. <br />M/S/C Mottaz/John - to award the bid for the John Deere <br />Model 6400 Tractor/Mower to Scharber & Sons in the amount of <br />$36,824.00 plus sales tax in the amount of $2,393.56 for a <br />total of $39,217.56 to the low bidder, Scharber & Sons. <br />Further, that for CIP purchases, a life -span of 20 year <br />replacement be placed on this item based on the <br />recommendation of the Maintenance Advisory Committee. <br />(Motion carried 5-0). <br />C. Chipping <br />M/S/C Johnson/Mottaz - to table for two weeks in order to <br />develop more information on such options as: using <br />Washington County employees; borrowing Woodbury's chipper; <br />working out something with North St. Paul and opening the <br />compost site one Saturday a month for brush. (Motion carried <br />5-0). <br />D. Copy Auditor <br />M/S/C Mottaz/John - to instruct the staff to inquire from <br />D.C. Hey if the copy auditor can be on loan for one month. <br />(Motion carried 5-0). <br />M/S/C Mottaz/Conlin - to adjourn the council meeting at <br />11:45 p.m. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />------------- <br />Resolution No. 93-20, A Resolution Adopting the 1993 rate <br />structure for 201 systems in the city. <br />Resolutions Nos. 93-21 through 93-29, Ordering the <br />Preparation of a Feasibility Report for the Improvement of <br />Hidden Bay Area, 37th Street (west of Jamaca), Kraft Circle, <br />Langley Court, Legion Avenue (20th Street to Legion Lane), <br />Laverne Avenue (TH5 to 39th St.), Highlands Trail, Highlands <br />Court, and 20th Street Court. <br />
