FAMILY VIOLENCE NETWORK <br />P.O. Box 854 <br />Lake Elmo, Minnesota 55042 <br />The Family Violence Network is a private, nonprofit, tax-exempt Minnesota corporation. Our main programs <br />are: <br />• Battered Women's Program provides support to women and their children and helps <br />them escape violent situations. <br />• Safe Homes provide short term safety in family homes and longer term safety at our extended stay <br />shelter, the Doris & Stan Hill Home. <br />• Children's Proeram offers education, support groups and protective services to the children of <br />battered women and children who are victims of physical and emotional abuse. <br />Intervention Services work cooperatively with the criminal justice system to provide crisis <br />services at the time of arrest and provide services throughout the court process. <br />• ACEPT Proiect serves adolescent violent offenders and their parents in order to prevent future <br />violence. <br />Community Education Program provides education on the issues of family violence for children, <br />service providers, professionals, and the community. <br />The Family Violence Network is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of battered women, <br />professionals and concerned citizens representing the different geographic sections of our service area. (List <br />attached). The Family Violence Network has 29 staff and 1 contract person. We utilize 40 volunteers as crisis <br />lineladvocates, 8 as intervention court advocates, 11 for Orders for Protection, 7 as children's support group <br />leaders, 7 office people, 6 safe homes, 9 women's support group leaders, 2 Newsletter volunteers, 4 Home/ Phone <br />Intervention Advocates, 9 Special Projects/Community Education and 10 volunteers for miscellaneous jobs. <br />We serve all residents of Washington County and suburban Ramsey County with a total population of 359,789. <br />The Family Violence Network is a nonprofit organization which is working to eliminate violence in familial <br />relationships and promote self-reliance. <br />
