(Motion carried 5-0).
B. Driveway Ordinance
City Engineer Bohrer pointed out that state aid standards have maximum widths: 22
feet for residential driveways and 32 feet for commercial driveways. The width is
unregulated once it crosses the property line other than impervious surface coverage or
other constraints.
M/S/C John/Mottaz - Width: For that portion of the driveway on the street right-of-way,
the maximum driveway width of any new residential driveway shall be 22 feet and a
commercial (non-residential) driveway shall be 32 feet. (Motion carried 5-0).
Attorney Filla explained the driveways that are illegal at the present time should be
made to conform to the new ordinance. The driveways that are currently legal and will
become illegal because of the adoption of this code, will then become non -conforming
and can stay, but cannot be expanded.
