Chronology of Alternative Agricultural Ordinance Proposed Amendments <br />June 16, 1992 <br />January 5, 1993 <br />Council Meeting. Question raised as to the <br />legality of issuing building permit for a new <br />house in 1991 to Tom Armstrong. Mouaz and <br />Mayor Johnson claim it violated CUP conditions <br />and that CUP area is not 6 acres but 254.6 acres. <br />Council Meeting. CUP compliance questioned by <br />Building Inspector. More than 100 objects - but <br />less than one per two and one half acres or 150 <br />square feet of actually occupied space per two <br />and one half acres. The minutes indicate that <br />the Council questioned the purpose of this <br />complex formula. <br />January 19, 1993 Council Meeting: Mayor John requests <br />Armstrong to work with City Staff to come up <br />with changes to the Alternative Ag. Use <br />Ordinance as to definition of CUP area and the <br />outside storage limitations. <br />March 22, 1993 Armstrong submits a draft proposal for a change <br />to the Ordinance. It is later referred to the City <br />Attorney. <br />June 1, 1993 Council Meeting. Armstrong absent on Military <br />duty in Virginia. City Attorney doesn't like the <br />change in the word "landowner" to "applicant". <br />Council votes not to refer draft to PZC. <br />June 27, 1993 Armstrong forwards revised draft of June 27, <br />1993 to City Attorney. <br />June 29, 1993 In a telephone conference with Armstrong, City <br />Attorney indicates that he has no legal objection <br />to the revised draft with the word "landowners" <br />instead of "applicants." <br />July 1, 1993 By letter Armstrong requests council members <br />to consider new draft which meets approval of <br />City Attorney.
