Mayor and Councilmembers <br />City of Lake Elmo <br />Re: Amendments to the Alternative Agricultural Use Ordinance. <br />Dear Wyn, <br />I was unable to attend the Council meeting on June 1, 1993, because <br />of military duty in Charlottesville, Virginia. The June 1st agenda contained <br />a proposal for changes in the Alternative Agricultural Use Ordinance which <br />was prepared as a result of discussions with staff and the Council at the <br />January 19, 1993, meeting. <br />At that meeting, I had suggested that the staff look into possible <br />changes because (if difficulties that had arisen in the wording of the <br />ordinance. Before the January 19th meeting, I had written the Council a <br />five page letter with numerous exhibits regarding these problem areas. It <br />appeared that the Council concurred that the ordinance should be <br />reviewed, and I volunteered to make some suggestions. I had anticipated <br />that the staff would review these proposals, add to or change the <br />proposals, and that the council would then forward these suggestions to <br />the PZC for further study. On March 22, 1993, these proposed changes <br />were sent to the City Administrator. <br />In reviewing the June 1st meeting video, I discovered that the City <br />Attorney had a problem with the use of the word "applicant" instead of <br />"landowner." This suggested change has been deleted and a revised draft <br />
