Ms. Mary Kueffner
Page 2
June 20, 1995
B. Reimbursement of Lake Elmo's out-of-pocket
expenses for the improvements to the fire station
building and compost site.
C. Compensation for the restricted use of the
maintenance building site necessitated by the Lake
Jane Landfill clean-up process and MPCA
agreement with the counties.
4. Title of the landfill area will be transferred to the Minnesota
Pollution Control Agency.
r5. Washington County has no future responsibility for the site on
which the maintenance building is located, nor the park land
that is being transferred to the city of Lake Elmo.
6. It is agreed that the city of Lake Elmo is not responsible for the
removal of the fire station building.
7. It is understood that the site on which the maintenance
building is located can be sold or leased in the future, subject
only to the restrictions on the property as designated by the
MPCA or by applicable zoning ordinances.
As I noted during our meeting, I would be very happy to meet with you and
representatives of the city council to discuss this matter further and attempt to reach
an agreement so that the process of transfer to the MPCA can occur as soon as
possible. The County believes that time is of the essence in this matter and that it is
a good opportunity not only for the residents of the County, but in particular, the
residents of the city of Lake Elmo. We hope that you will be receptive to this
proposal
Sincerely.
);-1-
James R. Schug
County Administrator
/le
