LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES AUGUST 1, 1995 PAGE 8 <br />M/S/P Hunt/Johnston - to order the project as presented by the City Engineer and direct the City <br />Engineer and staff to construct the street drainage project for 36th and 37th Street with the <br />agreed upon materials cost share with the two property owners, with the option that the two <br />property owners have the opportunity to use grass seed instead of sod. Motion passed 4-0. <br />8. CITY PLANNER'S REPORT <br />A. MN Design Team Visit. <br />City Planner Pung-Terwedo reported the Steering Committee for the Design Team visit has been <br />assembled and met for the first time on Monday, July 31 in the Council Chambers, with Design <br />Team representatives Arthur Merhoff and Tim Mcllway. The committee reviewed the schedule for <br />the weekend visit, and will meet again on August 7 to discuss facilities, group gatherings, food, <br />publicity, etc. The committee will meet again with Team representatives on August 14. The <br />council received a list of the steering committee members, and Floyd Olson was added. About 6 <br />more host families are needed, if anyone knows of anyone that could put up Team members for <br />the weekend. All meetings are open to the public. <br />B. 1-94 Corridor Study. <br />City Planner Pung-Terwedo reported the 1-94 Task Team is assembled, and the council received <br />a list of the task team members. The task team has not met yet, due to other immediate planning <br />issues the City's been dealing with, and the mapping for the area is not quite ready yet. <br />However, it is expected they will meet within the next two weeks. A questionnaire has been <br />prepared and distributed to all the property owners within the 1-94 Study Area, and responses are <br />being received. The council felt that the committee members should be recognized, however, are <br />not official committees of the council, and all meetings are open to the public. <br />9. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT: <br />The City has filed a counter claim against Hammes Sand & Gravel, and they have twelve days <br />left to respond to that claim. <br />10. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS: <br />Councilman DeLapp reported he participated in a recent bus trip through Polk, Pierce, and St. <br />Croix Counties with a number of Metropolitan Council members. At a meeting in Hudson the City <br />Council and public officials of Wisconsin discussed concerns about development in western <br />Wisconsin outside of Met Council's jurisdiction. <br />Council member Johnston asked the City Administrator and City Planner when the council will <br />receive a report on their visit to Overland Park Kansas? Administrator Kueffner replied that at the <br />next City Council meeting a report will be given. <br />
