Mayor's Report May 7,1996
On Friday, April 19, I bowled on Mayor Barb O'Neil's Dream Team against
Stillwater Chamber of Commerce in aid of the Bowl for' Kid's Sake program.
The result is still in doubt, but it was an enjoyable, though frustrating,
personal experience.
On Tuesday April 23, I attended the Lake Elmo Firemen's recognition dinner
at Tartan Park. It was a good turn out, emceed by Doug Pepin. It was an event
hosted by Tartan Park in thanks for the support of the volunteer firemen in
providing fire protection to their facility. Their hospitality was much
appreciated.
On March 30, Councillors Conlin, Delapp, Johnston and I attended a
discussion on intergovernmental relationships with Washington County
Commissioners, and other Washington City Officers and Township Board
members. Senator Len Price and Representative Peg Larson were also present.
Mutual issues, such as Water Management, Property Tax Reform, and Waste
Management - were identified. The consensus was that such meetings would
be beneficial and that the fifth Tuesday in a month would be the selected dates
when most organizations would be free. So, July 30 would be the date of the
next meeting.
