PUBLIC WORKS CITIZENS COMMITTEE MEETING <br />TUESDAY, JULY 9, 1996 <br />PRESENT: Jim Blackford, Dick Gustafson, Bruce Dunn, Jim Friend, Melinda Petrellis <br />Others: Bill Wacker, Ann Pung-Terwedo, Dean Johnson, Marilyn Benesch, Steve <br />DeLapp <br />Steve DeLapp opened the meeting and described the process to date. <br />Dean Johnson discussed the process to date, important specs of the building, both <br />visually and aesthetically. <br />Jim Blackford questioned the building size relative to growth in the City. <br />Dean Johnson reviewed the project elements. The interior elements have been <br />identified. All runoff directed eastward. The storage yard has been reduced to be <br />incorporated into the entrance. Visually, what does the Community group want. The <br />Community group needs to add their perspective relative to the design and landscaping <br />of the building. <br />Steve DeLapp added that the Committee needs to add their ideas. <br />Jim Blackford liked the general site plan with the drainage areas and the work areas <br />behind h building. <br />Bruce Dunn: Cheap building with lots of landscaping. Nice building with less <br />landscaping. <br />Jim Blackford: leave the drainage area alone. <br />Marilyn Benesch:A little bit of both landscaping and building. <br />SITE DESIGN: <br />Marilyn Benesch:Storage yard closer to building is more efficient. <br />Landscape around building. The entrance road has an S curve for site lines. <br />Steve DeLapp: Natural prairie or corn. Mixture of vegetation. The Committee liked a <br />mixture of trees and shrubs, ornamental in front. <br />Jim Blackford: Apple trees, flowering crabs. <br />
