Mayor's Report February 4,1997
On January 24, Councilor DeLapp and I attended the University of Minnesota
- Ohio State swim meet. We presented the Lake Elmo proclamation Honoring
Tanya Schuh and proclaiming that day, January 24, to be Tanya Schuh
Hometown Day. Subsequently we watched the swim team convincingly beat
Ohio State.
Last night Administrator Kueffner and I attended the Tri Lakes Association
Annual meeting. We discussed septic waste water disposal systems in the Tri
Lakes area, and the desirability of establishing a study group to consider the
subject. The group would determine whether a problem exists, the extent of
the problem and the viability of various solutions, including constructed
wetlands, sewer systems and associated costs. The majority of those members
present, who lived on the Lakes felt that such a study group was desirable. Ms.
Kueffner will determine the best way to set up this study group.
Tomorrow, Ms. Kueffner and I will meet with Ginny Holder, Lake Elmo
Cable representative to establish the format and subject matter for the first
Lake Elmo TV program. Hopefully, we will be able to create a program which
is of interest to all residents, and which provides timely recognition and
useful information about goings on in the City - from the new Fire Truck - to
the Jaycees attractive sign at the west approach to Lake Elmo - and the
performance of the Maintenance Department in snow clearing this winter.
